The apple didn't fall far from the tree when Skip Wogan's son, Phil decided to try his hand at golf course architecture.
Using all of the knowledge gained from a lifetime of working side-by-side with his Dad, Phil built the Challenger course in 1961. This masterfully crafted nine-hole layout has proven to be a demanding test of skill, and the perfect addition to the club. Considered a more difficult tract than the Championship course, the Par 35 layout is demanding, yet provides the golfer with an opportunity to hone his skills on a very competitive landscape. Multiple tee boxes, fairway mounding, and undulating greens make a round of golf on all 27 holes enjoyable for players of all ages and skill levels. Skip would be proud of what Phil has masterfully created and what has become a valuable addition to the golfing experience at Blue Hill Country Club.
